Star-Spangled Sailabration

Image
Ship, lots of them, will be in Baltimore June   13-19, 2012.   Star-Spangled Sailabration is the national launch of the War of 1812 bicentennial. An international maritime and air festival in the Baltimore region and the Chesapeake Bay, this week-long event will feature dozens of tall ships and naval war ships, unveiling of public art, the premiere of a new symphonic work, and the Star-Spangled Air Show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. For my friends interested in meeting sailors, many of them will be in town during these days, playing in sports tournaments at Patterson Park and Rash Field and spending time in the evenings at the local establishments around the Harbor. My role in Sailabration, in addition to event support, is to recruit and manage hundreds of volunteers for this event.   We need fabulous volunteer leaders and other volunteers for the various festivities and to assist the Captain and crew as they visit Baltimore.    More information to come soon!   Yes, the top r
