The Lorax and TreeBaltimore

I love Dr. Seuss!  In middle school, I did a photo journal project about The Lorax, showing an illustration from the book next to a photo from my community.  Pretty cool project that showed the continued relevancy of his message.

Dr. Seuss, or rather, Theodor Seuss Geisel, went to Dartmouth College, Class of 1925.  They have a large portrait of him in the library there along with much pride of his status as an alum.

On March 2, 2012, The Lorax movie will be released!  There are many great national sponsors involved with this and have created interactive environmental education websites, environmental petitions, Facebook contests, and more. One of my clients, TreeBaltimore is considering how to wrap their arms around The Lorax  and use its momentum for their message  and to promote the fantastic work that they do.  My job will be coming up with some of these ideas , within a realistic framework of budget and resource constraints,  and getting others to think creatively about this as well.  Tree Baltimore increases the tree canopy in Baltimore with community tree plantings, free tree giveaways, and public education.

I told you that I have a fun job.  I’ll keep you posted!
